Abstract
Portions of human pineal bodies were implanted into 36 white mice. The regularity of the estrous cycle of normal mice was unaffected. In ovariectomized mice, estrus was produced by 8 of 13 pineal bodies 5-8 days after implantation. No gonadotropic influence in infantile mice was found. The significance of these findings in relation to pubertas praecox is discussed.
