Women in Pediatric Practice: Trends and Implications

Abstract

Pediatric Annals | One of the most noteworthy trends in the physician workforce is the increasing number of women in medicine. According to data collected by the American Medical Association, between 1970 and 1996 the number of women in medicine increased more than fivefold. During this time, the specialty of pediatrics was on the leading edge of this increase. Pediatrics has consistently attracted a greater
