Determination of the Net Annual Aerial Production of Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull, in Northern England

Abstract
From the growth curve of a standing crop of Calluna vulgaris in an aged series of moorland ecosystems regenerating after fire, a value of 177 [plus or minus] 23 g dry weight per m2, is calculated for its net annual aerial production on deep blanket peat in Northern England. This could form a reference figure for a phyochorological study of this sp.
