Abstract
Extract Several different species of fungi have been incriminated as agents capable of causing abortion in cattle (Ainsworth and Austwick, 1959 Ainsworth, G. C. and Austwick, P. K. D. 1959. Fungal Diseases of Animals: Review Series No. 6 of the Commonwealth Bureau of Animal, Famham, Royal: Health. C.A.B.. [Google Scholar] ). In sheep, however, no recorded instance of abortion due to fungal invasion of the allantochorion could be found in the literature. This paper describes an outbreak of suspected mycotic abortion in ewes.
