Abstract
Homotransplantation of kidneys in normal dogs was followed by prompt renal shutdown and progressive failure of the graft. Frequent complement detns. were performed during the 3-week postoperative period. Unlike the situation in human glomerulonephritis and exptl. nephritis a fall in serum complement 1-2 weeks later was not observed. Instead sometimes a significant rise in serum complement followed homotransplantation. Keywords
