Abstract
In recent years, internal carotid artery occlusion has frequently been diagnosed in young adults. The present study of 17 patients under 40 years of age with carotid occlusion shows how the underlying mechanism accompanying the occlusion may differ from that in older patients in whom the usual cause is atherosclerosis (Fisher, 1954).Keywords
