Abstract
An indirect method of measuring systolic blood-pressure in the supra-orbital arteries by an ultrasonic technique is described. The results are repeatable and the expected differences are shown with changes of posture. Calculation of pressure indices has shown significant variation between normal, hypertensive, and arteriosclerotic subjects. The method should-be of value in assessing the significance of occlusive lesions of the carotid vessels. Keywords
