On the Elastic Scattering of Electrons of Nearly Zero Energy by Helium Atoms

Abstract
The elastic cross section for the scattering of electrons by helium atoms at zero energy has been calculated by using the variational method of Hulthén. For the ground state of helium atom we have used the so called open-configuration wave function which introduces the radial correlation into the wave function. For the elastic cross section, we have found the value 28.54a02.
