Abstract
For the first time, a GaAlAs laser diode array pumped Ho:YAG laser operating at 2-1 μm has been demonstrated at 77 K. Laser threshold occurred at 2.7 mW of pump power centred at 785.5 nm. A slope efficiency of 19% was achieved.
