Abstract
In one expt. 14 healthy sweet corn plants were exposed for 4 days to 150 adult leafhoppers that had been hatched and reared on a diseased corn plant. 14 other corn plants were exposed to the same number of virus-free leafhoppers. All the plants of the first colony came down with stunt 5 6 weeks after exposure but the control colony remained healthy. These and other expts. proved that corn stunt is readily transmitted by Balcluthus maidis.
