Technique for producing ultrathin polypropylene films

Abstract
A method is described for stretching commercially available polypropylene film to thicknesses in the range 0.2–1.0 μm. Such films are used as windows for soft x‐ray proportional counters, gas absorption cells, energy‐loss nuclear detectors, and high vacuum isolation.Keywords
