Abstract
A new determination of the Beutler-Fano parameters for the 3s3p 1P1 resonance in helium by the measurement of He+ ions does not confirm the earlier measurements of the Fano correlation coefficient rho 2 and the linewidth Gamma made by Dhez and Ederer (1973). However, there is good agreement with recent experimental data of Lindle et al (1987). As a consequence, the need for improved theoretical calculations is indicated.Keywords
