Abstract
In 3 strains of mice and 2 of rats, given a choice between alcohol and water, various patterns of alcohol consumption are developed. In various instances the appetite for alcohol can be abolished by administering B vitamins, antipernicious anemia vitamin, vitamin A, and linseed oil. The concept of genetotrophic disease is advanced to cover diseases which arise from nutritional deficiencies and genetically-controlled augmented requirement for specific nutrients. Keywords
