Levels in 35Cl: Theoretical

Abstract
The experimental results obtained for 35Cl are interpreted in terms of the shell model with core excitations. The states at 3165 and 7545 keV are [Formula: see text] states. The states at 4174 and 7841 keV are [Formula: see text] states. In both cases the higher energy state is the isobaric analogue of a state in 35S. All other states below 6 MeV may possibly be described as an excited core to which is coupled a [Formula: see text] proton. This particularly explains the extreme retardation of the transition between the 3164 and 2645 keV states.
