Abstract
Four patients suffering from acute alcoholic psychoses were continuously monitored by electroencephalography and an attendant psychiatrist. The data of the first day and night in the hospital are presented. Profound disturbances of sleep and dreaming were observed which may be of etiologic significance. Evidence was obtained indicating an intimate relationship between the hallucinations. of the dream and the waking hallucinations. The data also raised many questions about the psychophysiology of sleep. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
