Abstract
The authors have studied packings of hard discs with size distribution. The ratio of the largest and smallest discs has been chosen to be less than 6.46, above which a small disc can fit inside a triangle formed by three large discs. The observed compacity and coordinance are independent of the size distribution. Comparison is made with 3D packings of spheres. Keywords
