Sources of Information in Child Psychology Literature

Abstract

Citations from the bibliographies in the Third Edition of Carmichael's Manual of Child Psychology were examined to determine the nature and age of the sources. The results indicate greater emphasis on older research sources than is found in specified other fields of research. In addition, the 15 most frequently cited journals are listed and trends in references in these journals are analyzed.
