Abstract
The effect of hypophysectomy on the thyroidal collection of radioiodine was detd. by an in vivo method following injn. of 1 microcurie of I131. Following hypophysectomy, the rat thyroid collects about 12% as much I as before hypophysectomy. The defective collection of I occurs soon after operation and becomes maximal between 5 and 6 days after operation. Keywords
