Abstract
The author reports conditioning studies made on an almost completely decorticated dog. Histological examination showed only minute fragments of neocortex left after the 2-stage decortication. Conditioned response training began in the tenth post-operative week. The animal readily conditioned limb-withdrawal to the sound of a Galton whistle, and later transferred this to a response to light. A histological report and behavioral notes are included. 18 references. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
