Photoemission cross section for a copper surface state

Abstract
We present the results of a theoretical investigation of the photoemission cross section for the surface-state band on the (111) face of copper. The calculations were done using reasonably accurate models for both the initial and final (outgoing) states. We pay particular attention to the influence of the details of the polarization of the optical field on the angular dependence of the cross section. The energy dependence of the cross sections is reported, and comparison to experiment is made where possible.
