Abstract

THE advances in vascular surgery during the past decade have created a demand for a sale and reliable method of opacification of the aorta and its major branches. The exact diagnosis and localization of arterial lesions are no longer medical curiosities but are problems of utmost clinical importance. The method of aortic opacification reported in this paper meets all these criteria.dos Santos et al.¹ introduced translumbar aortography in 1929, but it was many years before this method was used in the United Slates.
