Mitral Regurgitation in Idiopathic Hypertrophic Subaortic Stenosis

Abstract
ALTHOUGH mitral regurgitation is a frequent i. finding in patients with idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, the cause of the regurgitation has been poorly understood. This report describes an angiographic abnormality of the mitral valve in patients with this condition and offers a possible explanation for the valvular incompetence.Materials and MethodsEleven patients with hypertrophic subaortic stenosis were studied by catheterization of the left side of the heart.
