CRYSTALLINE VITAMIN Bc IN RELATION TO THE CELLULAR ELEMENTS OF CHICK BLOOD

Abstract

Data are presented on the cellular blood elements of normal, vit. Bc deficient, and vit. Bc treated chicks. Crystalline vit. Bc prevents macrocytic anemia, leukopenia, and thrombopenia in chicks during the 1st 4 wks. of life. Chicks raised on a purified ration containing all of the known B vits. in crystalline form along with ample amts. of Mg, still develop perosis. This suggests that another unknown perotic factor exists.
