Abstract
The nomenclature of a recent paper by C. Candler on this subject differs from that of the revised C. E. K. Mees’s “Theory of the Photographic Process” and neither adopts a long-established usage in stellar spectrophotometry. The best-known formulae are here shown to be special cases of a more generally applicable formula deduced from plausible assumptions, and a compromise notation is suggested. Keywords
