ASTROBLASTOMA AND PERITHELIAL SARCOMA IN A CASE OF NEOPLASTIC DISEASE OF THE BRAIN

Abstract

A case of neoplastic cerebral disease is reported in which microscopic examination of the specimen revealed the presence of both astroblastomatous and perithelial sarcomatous tissue. The available evidence suggests that tumors of mesodermal and ectodermal origin arose concurrently in the same relative area of the brain in the case reported and that it is an example of multiple adjacent tumors of the central nervous system.
