Preparation and Use of a Modified Protein Binder in the Fabrication of Feed for Post-Larval Aquacultural Animals

Abstract
The laboratory preparation of a modified protein (acylated) binder is described. The important feature of this binder is that it enables a rapid and simply effected conversion of a liquid feed to a solid feed. A laboratory method is given for the fabrication of aquacultural feed using this modified binder. A typical feed that has been prepared with this binder has an elastic texture, resists fragmentation in water, and is readily acceptable to test animals.
