Some Improvements in Rearing Stable Flies

Abstract
Modifications of the Campau method are descr. Eggs are deposited on moist cellulose sponges from which they are readily separated, concentrated, and seeded. Addition of sand over the surface of the larval medium results in less mold growth, and moistening the sand prior to pupation aids in ultimate separation of the pupae by flotation. Activity and subsequent oviposition were stimulated by means of a sunlamp. Pupae and eggs were successfully refrigerated for limited periods of time.
