Abstract
A synthetic vitamin A-free diet with either carotene or cod-liver oil concentrate sufficed for rearing young chickens to maturity. Carotene did not color beaks or shanks which had become colorless through the absence of carotenoids from the diet. Hen-liver oils had a high vitamin A content and the vitamin A requirements of the fowl are large. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
