Abstract
Thermoelectrets were formed in commercial poly(ethylene terephthalate) films over several temperature ranges. The depolarization of charges injected during thermoelectret formation indicated holes to be the majority charge carriers in the conduction process. The depolarization of dipoles oriented during thermoelectret formation indicated that the Tg peak reflects stresses introduced into the mobile chain segments during orientation of the glycol linkages.
