Effect of 2,4-D on the Wheat Stem Sawtly1

Abstract
Greenhouse tests confirmed field observations that 2,4-D had an effect on larvac of the wheat stem sawfly. Cephus cinctus Norton. Larval mortality was highest when the herbicide was applied immediately before or during oviposition and decreased as the time between application and oviposition (before or after) was increased. Adult sawflies were unaffected and eggs appeared to be affected only slightly, if at all.
