Bulk superconducting Y2Ba4Cu7O15δ and YBa2Cu4O8 prepared in oxygen at 1 atm

Abstract
Synthesis of bulk Y2 Ba4 Cu7 O15δ and YBa2 Cu4 O8 high-Tc superconductors at atmospheric pressure, without the addition of alkali rate enhancers, is reported. The superconducting transition temperature for Y2 Ba4 Cu7 O15δ is shown to depend on oxygen stoichiometry, with the resistive onset observed above 90 K. The YBa2 Cu4 O8 phase has zero resistance Tc close to 80 K. A modified Y-Ba-Cu-O P-T phase diagram is presented.
