Abstract
A solution containing basic fuchsin, amido black and naphthol yellow (FAN) is recommended for the staining of neurosurgical biopsy material. It is suitable both for formalin-fixed frozen tissue cut with the conventional freezing microtome, and for unfixed frozen tissue sectioned in a cryostat and subsequently “post-fixed”.
