Electrical Resistance of Dilute Solutions of Hydrogen in Palladium

Abstract

The temperature coefficient of the relative resistance of the α phase of hydrogen/palladium has been investigated as a function of hydrogen content (0°—90°C). The relative resistance R/R₀ increases linearily with hydrogen content at each temperature. In contrast to earlier studies, a temperature coefficient has been found which can be expressed as ${\mathrm{d(R/R}}_0{\text{)/dn=0.542+1.042×10}}^3{\text{/T (0}}^{\circ }\hspace{0.17em}\mathrm{to}{\text{\hspace{0.17em}90}}^{\circ }\mathrm{C})$ .
