Use of 4-Nitrobenzylthioinosine in the Measurement of Rates of Nucleoside Transport in Human Erythrocytes

Abstract
The equilibrium exchange diffusion of uridine in human erythrocytes is abruptly terminated in the presence of 4-nitrobenzylthioinosine, an inhibitor of nucleoside transport. This compound would appear to have value as a stopping agent in studies of nucleoside transport which require measurements over short time intervals.
