Abstract
The present investigation examined various objective methods for determining the number of factors that best explain the factorial structure of the WAIS-R. The six methods yielded a wide of range of number of factors and the “correct” answer was determined to be equivocal. In general, the two- and three-factor solutions appeared to be the most viable. Practical implications these data are discussed. Keywords
