Repeaterless optical transmission at 10 Gbit/s via 182 km of standard singlemode fibre using a high power booster amplifier

Abstract
Using the new method of dispersion supported transmission, high power signals of + 19 dBm at 10 Gbit/s are transmitted on standard singlemode fibre via the record length of 182 km without inline amplification. The robustness of the transmission scheme against nonlinear effects is verified.
