Abstract
The purpose of this review is to assess current techniques for studying protein hormone receptor interactions, delineate the criteria for calling a membrane binding substance a receptor, discuss what is presently known concerning the nature of the receptor molecule and discuss the molecular requirements of the hormone for binding to receptors.
