Food Habits of Pennsylvania House Cats

Abstract

An analysis of the contents of 202 house cat stomachs and 32 scats indicated that the foods of field-hunting cats were primarily rodents, table foods, garbage, and cottontails. Birds, shrews, and other forms were secondary in vol. and occurrence. Non-field cat foods consisted mainly of table food and garbage.
