Theγ-Instability of Mesons

Abstract
The following examples of γ-instability are investigated: (a) M0γ1+γ2, (b) M1γ1+γ2+γ3, (c) M1M0+γ, (d) M1±M0±+γ, where M0 and M1 mean a pseudoscalar and a (heavier) vector meson, respectively, and the superscript ± indicates the charge, if there is one. If the coupling constant and meson masses appropriate to the Schwinger mixture are used, the lifetimes are found to be: τa=1×1016 sec., τb=2×1011 sec., τc=1×1018 sec., and τd=4×1018 sec. In all cases except (b) the calculation leads to logarithmically divergent integrals.
