An enzyme from rat liver catalysing conjugations with glutathione. 2. Replacement of nitro groups

Abstract
Rat-liver supernatant contains an enzyme that catalyses the replacement of labile aromatic nitro groups with glutathione. Evidence is presented for its identity with the enzyme that conjugates 3,4-dichloronitrobenzene and glutathione with the liberation of chloride. An explanation of the non-competitive inhibition of one second substrate by another is suggested.
