Abstract
A simple capacitance transducer, suitable for monitoring crack opening displacements (CODS) at elevated temperatures is described. The operation range may be up to several millimetres and so far a stability of +or-1 mu m has been obtained in vacuum at 565 degrees C over periods up to 1000 h.Keywords
