Abstract
The Eu 3 + and Tb 3 + dopedglassceramics containing tetragonal LiYbF 4 nanocrystals were prepared. The Stark splitting emission, the low electric dipole D 5 0 → F 7 2 transition, and the long lifetime of Eu 3 + evidenced the partition of rare earth into LiYbF 4 . For Tb 3 + dopedglassceramic, intense ultraviolet emission of Tb 3 + : G 5 6 , D 5 3 → F 7 6 transition via cooperative sensitization of Yb 3 + and bright blue cooperative luminescence originated from the coupled state of Yb 3 + – Yb 3 + ionic pairs were achieved under 976 nm excitation, ascribing to the low-phonon-energy environment of rare earth ions enriched in nanocrystals and the efficient Yb 3 + – Tb 3 + or Yb 3 + – Yb 3 + interionic interactions. Keywords
