An Interferometer of 423 Metres Baseline, Consisting of Two Fully Steerable Radio Telescopes

Abstract
The operation of an interferometer at λ 21 cm using the two large fully steerable paraboloids at Jodrell Bank is described, and the use of an ‘on-line’ digital computer to process the output signal is explained in detail. The capabilities of the instrument are discussed. Initial observations of the angular structure of two sources are also reported.
