Effects of Various Sulfa Compounds on the Protozoan Parasite, Eimeria tenella

Abstract
Various sulfonamide drugs have been tried against E. tenella, the cause of cecal coccidiosis in chickens. Tests carried out so far demonstrate that sulfadiazine will prevent development of both the asexual and sexual stages of the parasite. This compound has been found effective when given in single doses or when administered in the feed.
