Decays of Negative-Parity Baryons in a Quark Model

Abstract

Decay widths for baryons in the (70,$1^{-}$) supermultiplet are calculated using the symmetric quark model. Mixings are taken into account. The branching ratio $\frac{\left[Y_0^{}{}_{}{}^{*}\mathrm{}\right(1519)\mathrm{}\to N\overline{K}]}{\left[Y_0^{}{}_{}{}^{*}\mathrm{}\right(1519)\mathrm{}\to \Sigma \pi ]}$ shows that even a small mixing angle can be important.
