Abstract
The further identification of regions of the colicin E1 plasmid that affect plasmid functions was achieved by studying deletions and TnA [ampicillin translocation sequence] insertions of the plasmid [in Escherichia coli]. Colicin production, colicin immunity, relaxation of plasmid DNA and plasmid incompatibility functions were examined. A strong correlation was observed between the ability of colicin E1 plasmid DNA to be relaxed and the ability of that plasmid to be transferred by conjugation. This publication has 25 references indexed in Scilit:
