Abstract
Recent advances have, for the first time, allowed accurate quantitation of the virus-specific effector and memory CD8T lymphocyte responses. The T cell numbers are much higher than anyone had previously suspected. The consequence is a revolution in our understanding of cell-mediated immunity in virus infections. Keywords
