Slip and Creep in Polyatomic Gas Mixtures

Abstract

Explicit expressions are obtained for viscous slip, thermal creep, and diffusive slip in polyatomic gas mixtures through the use of the “dusty‐gas” model. The most significant result is that the thermal creep depends only on the translational parts of the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusion coefficients. The multicomponent generalization is obtained, but is complicated for diffusive slip.
