Abstract
The domain structure of ferroelectric or ferroelastic materials, arising as a result of the cubic-tetragonal transition inside an epitaxial layer, are considered. A thermodynamic theory of the size and arrangement of the domains has been developed. The dependence of the equilibrium domain structure on the epitaxial layer thickness has been shown. Keywords
