Metabolism of Iron in Hemochromatosis

Abstract
Serial studies of the total circulating hemoglobin of a patient with hemo-chromatosis showed that hemoglobin was synthesized far in excess of that which would be expected from normal stores of iron. The physiologic availability of the excessive stores of iron for Hb production was therefore demonstrated in a patient with hemo-chromatosis.
